About Us
Hello again everyone!
I hope you are all having a happy and healthy week!! We have gained some new followers recently and as the rescue continues to grow I want to share some about me. I know a lot of people wonder who is Nick and what is this rescue about. I want this to be a community of helping animals and I want my rescue to always be as transparent as possible with you all. I said before this isn’t just my rescue but all of yours as well. First let me introduce myself.
My name is Nick Weatherill. I was born and raised in Council Bluffs and have a deep love for our community here. I myself have managed pet retail for several years and worked with local humane societies before my start. I am someone who was simply born with a deep love and passion for animals. If you can own it I probably have lol. I will never forget growing up and every time I came into the house with a box my Mom saying “Nick there better not be something alive in that box!” spoiler alert there usually was haha. That being said my parents always just allowed it (I don’t think they had a choice ). As this passion grew more I knew my place was to help others.
I worked as a CNA for about seven years and knew as much as I loved helping people I loved helping animals even more. I landed a job with a few different pet retail operations and local humane societies. I grew my knowledge from there. Last year I started to see such a huge need in our area for small animals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, etc. I wanted to change that and Nicks Critter Rescue was born. Now we are at a little over a half year mark and I am so proud of how this little venture has started to grow.
I am so thankful for everyone who has helped me along the way and so thankful for some very patient parents . I hope this gives you all a bit more insight of just who the Nick in Nicks Critter Rescue is. I hope this year we can continue to grow and continue to spread help throughout this community and beyond. Thank you all so much for liking, sharing, commenting.. all of it helps us grow.
Again thank you all so much,
Nick
